The Grand Opening and Dedication ceremony held for the Perris Valley Museum Historical Archives yesterday was a huge success. It was standing-room only as the ribbon was cut and city and county officials delivered speeches praising the massive and fantastic effort undertaken to restore the Bank of Perris and to the preservation of the city's history. For more on the grand opening, including photographs, see the City of Perris's Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Perris-CA/City-of-Perris/190414131283?ref=ts&ajaxpipe=1&__a=5 and on the city of Perris's webpage at http://www.cityofperris.org/.
The staff of the Perris Valley Museum Historical Archives is currently looking for Perris Union High School alumni to contribute to a special volume they are trying to write in time for the city of Perris's centennial next year on the history of the high school's yearbook, El Perrisito. We are looking for alumni from all generations, and even some multi-generational ones, to share memories of their glory days as the city commemorates the 100th anniversary of its incorporation! If interested, please contact archivist Christina Perris via e-mail at christina.perris@perrisvalleyarchives or by cell phone (909) 648-5768.
